Open House At Button Farm


OPEN HOUSE days at Button Farm operate from 12 PM to 3 PM on select Saturdays from April-November. Our site features self-guided tours of our Historic Outbuildings, Heritage Breed Animals, Museum Garden and Slave Cemetery. Pop-up exhibits and displays are added weekly. Purchase locally produced craft and food items in our Gift Shop. Bring a picnic lunch with you or access miles of hiking and biking trails through Seneca Creek State Park begin at our front gate. Check our calendar for WHAT’S HAPPENING events that are occurring during your visit.

Admission is $10 per car (Park & Play Pass). Masks not required, though we ask all guests to keep socially distanced from others, not in your own party.

Thank you for your interest in the Button Farm Living History Center. Button Farm is set on 40-pristine acres inside Seneca Creek State Park, and is Maryland's only hands-on history center depicting 19th-century slave plantation life and the inspirational story of the Underground Railroad. Our site features a Civil War-era Barn, Historic Outbuildings, Livestock Pens, Museum Garden, Slave Cemetery and is home to the Underground Railroad Immersion Experience. We are honored to serve the public as an essential community resource.
