County Farm Tour

Montgomery County celebrates its agricultural heritage by promoting local farms and inviting visitors to explore agricultural enterprises during the 2022 Farm Tour & Harvest Sale on Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24.

County residents and visitors of any age are welcomed to explore the 93,000-acre Agriculture Reserve through out Montgomery County, see the farm experience first-hand and indulge in a variety of local food, drink and fun!Button Farm is one of the 19 farms, orchards and vineyards participating this year and will host special events on Saturday July 23.

Set on 40-pristine acres inside Seneca Creek State Park, Button Farm is Maryland's only hands-on history center depicting 19th century slave plantation life and the inspirational story of the Underground Railroad. 

Visitors will experience:
  •  Guided and self-guided tours of our living history center including Museum Garden, Animal Pens and Exhibits.
  • Miles of hiking and mountain bike trails just off of our front drive.
  • Picnic tables, benches and shaded areas (bring your own food and non-alcoholic drink)

Saturday Event

Come explore the farm each week during our public hours of visitation. Take our Self-Guided Tour of our farm’s Museum Garden, Animal Pens, Historic Outbuildings and exhibits. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the afternoon.

MAY - JUL: FREE Admission. AUG - OCT: $7- Teens & Adults, $5- Seniors, Veterans and Children 12 and under.
